Mental Health Europe are organizing an awareness raising event at the European Parliament on Wednesday 7 December 2011, from 12:00-15:00, in the frame of 2012 European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.
The Theme will be the impact of (un)employment on the mental health of older people.
Richard Wynne from the ENMHP will speak at the event on the issue of mental health in the transition from work to retirement.
Shorelines: A one day international symposium exploring place, creativity and wellbeing 15/11/2011

The Symposium will explore interconnections between creative spaces or locations and physical and emotional wellbeing. It will seek to bring together a multidisciplinary audience of, researchers, academics and arts practitioners to present cutting edge research in their fields to foster discussion and further understanding about the significance of place in the creative process and its potential to enhance the quality of human experience.

The conference this year investigates the intimate relationship between the emotions and medicine. Proposals are invited for 20-minute papers, addressing any chronological period and from across the disciplines, including the medical humanities. Possible topics might include, but are not limited to

The IWP International Conference 2012 is being held from 26th to 28th June at the Mercure St. Paul’s Hotel, Sheffield City Centre. It is hosted by the Institute of Work Psychology, University of Sheffield, a distinctive community of researchers focused on work psychology and related areas, such as organisational behaviour and human resource management.
The conference theme, Thriving in times of uncertainty, encourages us to consider what facilitates high performance and well-being in challenging times. We encourage academics and practitioners to focus on the positive contribution that work psychology and related areas can make in a post-recovery climate.
The Conference will also be attractive to business leaders by exploring the latest ideas in occupational psychology and placing them in a practical setting.

Excellence in Child Mental Health is an annual conference in the field of child mental health which recruits outstanding international speakers to present cutting edge scientific findings as they relate to clinical practice.
The conference is addressed to child mental health professionals (fully qualified and trainees), allied health professionals (nurses, social workers, psychologists), community paediatricians with a specific interest in child mental health and clinical scientists. It aims to provide them with a unique opportunity to actively participate in a regular international forum, meet experts from the field, attend high quality sessions on updates in evidence-based practice and exchange experiences on the latest developments in diagnostic issues, treatment and services for children, young people and their families. Ultimately, the conference aspires to be in a position to generate annual state of the art guidance on selected topics related to child mental health clinical practice.
2nd Global Conference - Making Sense of: Suicide 2 31/10/2011

At the inaugural conference of Making Sense Of: Suicide, we had many vigorous discussions, which addressed suicide from a wide range of perspectives, including psychology, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, psychiatry and the law. Abstracts are now invited for Making Sense Of: Suicide 2, for individual contributions or for symposia of three papers. They should be written in simple language and for individual contributions should be no longer than 250 words, while for symposia they should include a 150 word overview for each contribution and a 200 word overview for the whole session. (Please take these word limits seriously)

Welcome to the Bullying and the Abuse of Power project Home Page. This inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary project aims to explore the phenomenon of bullying as it manifests and has manifested itself in a wide range of contexts in the personal, social and global spheres. Bullying is a multi-faceted phenomenon, of interest and concern to academics, professionals and vocational workers of all kinds, including psychologists, sociologists, teachers, ethicists, politicians, social workers, philosophers, theologians, historians, physicians and human rights lawyers. It is present in every sphere of life – from school, which is probably where most people first come across it, and consists, essentially, in the abuse of power. It can involve psychological cruelty; cultural and personal insults; religious and sexual intolerance. Anyone can be bullied; anyone can bully. It goes on in schools, workplaces, on the street; in any context in which people meet people. Bullying damages society; it produces human misery and corrupts societal values. It can ruin lives, and it can end lives. The project will seek to explore and examine bullying in any and all of the contexts mentioned above.
