World Mental Health Day raises public awareness about mental health issues. The day promotes open discussion of mental disorders, and investments in prevention, promotion and treatment services. This year the theme for the day is “Depression: A Global Crisis”.
Stress at Work 08/10/2012
More than 70% of workplaces don’t have procedures in place to deal with occupational stress, an new report commissioned by EU-OSH states. A secondary analysis of the ESENER survey of 28000 interviews in 31 countries identifies the reasons why this is the case, despite increasing levels of stress in workplaces and legal obligations on employers to prevent psychosocial risks.

It reviews the scientific evidence for investment in relation to 12 different areas and focuses on economic and other returns on this investment.
First Report on Implementation of Mental Health Pact 15/12/2011
The Commission has published a first report on the implementation of the mental health pact. It contains material relevant to all five settings of concern, including schools, workplaces and older people’s residences. It also contains summary accounts of the conclusions from the thematic conferences that were held as part of the Pact.
