The first report detailing the state of men’s health in Europe has just been launched.  Compiled by a multidisciplinary team led by Prof. Alan White from Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK, it uses EU wide mortality and morbidity data to describe the health status of European men.  While it compares men’s health status with that of women, its primary purpose is to draw attention to the wide range of illnesses and diseases that affect men and which are preventable.  The report contains a comprehensive chapter on mental health amongst European men.
