What is the ProMenPol Toolkit?

A Workplace Setting includes all small, medium, or large-scale companies and organisations which want to take part in the piloting phase. ProMenPol does not exclude any economic branches.

What is Meant by Level 1, 2, 3 Coding

At the top level of the ProMenPol Database there are seven Level 1 categories –  For example in the Education sector these are:or1 Policies, or2 Enablers, or3 Processes/Implementation, or4 Performance/Outcomes, En1 Infrastructure, En2 Social Network, En3 External Environment, Pr1 Generic Programmes, Pr2 Targeted Programmes.  The basic coding principle for this part of the framework is to start coding at this top level – i.e. identify the relevant primary category at Level 1 - this is Level 1 coding.  Once you have identified the primary category at Level 1 then you should specify at a deeper level. At Levels 2 and 3 there are specific codes which elaborate each element in terms of its content or focus , i.e. Level 2 is an elaboration of the elements at Level 1 and Level 3 is a further elaboration of each of the Level 2 elements.  Coding at these levels is called Level 2 coding and Level 3 coding respectively.

What is ICD 10

The ICD-10 is the World Health Organisation's international standard diagnostic classification for all general epidemiological and many health management purposes. These include the analysis of the general health situation of population groups and monitoring of the incidence and prevalence of diseases and other health problems in relation to other variables such as the characteristics and circumstances of the individuals affected. See: http://www.who.int/classifications/icd/en/

What is the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)

The ICF is the World Health Organisation's framework for measuring health and disability at both individual and population levels. A dynamic process in which a person’s physical, cognitive, affective, behavioural and social dimensions interact functionally with one another and with the environment. The ICF puts the notions of 'health' and 'disability' in a new light. It acknowledges that every human being can experience a decrement in health and therheby experience some degree of disability. The ICF thus 'mainstreams' the experience of disability and recognises it as a universal human experience. Furthermore ICF takes into account the social aspects of disability and does not see disability only as 'medical' or 'biological' dysfunction. By including Contextual Factors, in which environmental factors are listed, ICF allows to record the impact of the environment on the person's functioning. See: http://www.who.int/classifications/icf/en/

What is the ProMenPol  Framework

The ProMenPol framework is a system for describing the complexity of elements in the field of mental health promotion and protection and at the same time it acts as a reference point for searching for tools in this area. Three sources of models and classification systems were used as a basis for the framework; the ICF, ICD -10 and Models developed within the Health Promotion field.  It forms the basis of the on-line Database structure
