The guidance complements, but does not replace, NICE guidance on workplace promotion of physical activity and smoking cessation and also on depression. The Public Health Interventions Advisory Committee (PHIAC) developed these recommendations on the basis of reviews of the evidence, an economic analysis, expert advice, stakeholder comments and fieldwork. The guidance was developed using the NICE public health intervention process.
